St. Patrick's Day Activities & Celebration

St. Patrick's Day is a religious and cultural celebration held on March 17th, which was also the day Saint Patrick died in 461AD. St. Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland, and therefore widely celebrated throughout the country today. Even though the holiday is specific to Ireland, it is celebrated all around the world, including in the United States.

Last week, Melissa, Jason, and I did some activities with the kids in order to celebrate the holiday. We painted shamrocks (clovers) on the kids' faces, explained what the celebration was about, and did some follow-up games and activities.

Check out some pictures from the day below!

In Infantil, the kids listened and danced to "I'm a Little Leprechaun" and colored pictures of a leprechaun, pot of gold, clovers, and a rainbow.

In 1st and 2nd grade, the students learned St. Patrick's Day vocabulary, completed a word find, and read a short paragraph about the holiday. Students also began to work on their Easter projects, which are now hung in the Primary hall.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
